Article about Ukrainians’ preferences in choosing medicines from Experts Club on Thepharma.media

About a third of Ukrainians prefer Ukrainian-made medicines. This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by the research company Active Group in collaboration with the Experts Club analytical center in early February.

According to the study, 28.4% of respondents more often choose Ukrainian drugs, while 33.4% prefer imported drugs. At the same time, for 38.2% of respondents, the country of manufacture is not a determining factor when choosing medicines.

According to Alexander Pozniy, CEO and co-founder of Active Group, these results indicate a change in the competitive environment in the pharmaceutical market.

“For manufacturers, this means that competition is based on reputation, proven track record, and stability of supply, and Ukrainian brands can strengthen their positions through quality and clear communication,” said Alexander Pozniy, CEO and co-founder of Active Group.

In turn, Experts Club founder Maxim Urakin believes that the results of the study demonstrate the importance of trust in national pharmaceutical production.

“The fact that almost a third of consumers choose domestic drugs shows the importance of accessibility and trust in quality in the domestic market,” said Maxim Urakin.

The survey was conducted on February 11–12, 2026, on the SunFlowerSociology online panel. The study involved 1,000 respondents from a representative sample from all regions of Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territories.
